My Computer Keeps Coming Up With Pop Up Ads!

It's absolutely aggravating. Any time you turn the darned thing on, you're barraged with ads for dating services and popups telling you that your computer is infected with adware and you need to buy something to clean it. Closing them doesn't really help either, because they show right back up a few minutes later.

What is all of this stuff anyway?

It's something called adware, and it's a big problem with the internet today. It serves as an outlet for both low-quality advertising and sales pitches for removal software that will, as you've probably guessed, not actually do much in terms of solving the problem.

How did I get this stuff on my computer?

Pretty much any time you surf the web, you expose your computer to a number of risks, including adware. An unprotected computer generally won't stay adware free for very long, just because of how aggressive these programs are when it comes to infecting your system.

So, what do I do?

Ironically, you actually do need adware removal software, just not the hokey stuff that the ads are trying to sell you. Quality ad programs, in addition to not driving you nuts with an influx of ads, will allow you to scan your system for free to determine how severe (or if it all) your adware problems are.

Good anti-adware software will also include scheduling options and active protection to make sure that your system stays completely clean, allowing you to surf the internet in peace and not have to worry about security problems.
