When your Windows operated computer becomes slow and bulky, you know that something is wrong. It may take months or even years of use before this happens, but it will happen to all windows PCs. When it happens depends on how much the computer is used. Over a period of time a lot of fragment data entries build up in the registry. This causes a noticeable slow down in the operation of the computer. It will often be slow to boot. It will be slow in surfing the internet. It may freeze or show error messages. What is the computer registry? The simple answer is that it is a huge database of information which the operating system uses to run the computer and programs. As the computer is used, many fragments of useless information are left in the registry. These entries come from programs which were never completely installed, programs which were not properly uninstalled and various other sources. There may be unused drivers, useless shortcuts, never used files of all kinds and a wide variety of other data. All of this excess material chokes up the registry. This makes it difficult for the operating system to navigate its way through the registry to find the data it needs. The result is slow running, freezing and even the occasional crash. The longer you leave this uncorrected the worse the problem becomes. More and more useless entries corrupt the registry as time passes. The simple solution is to clean the registry and remove all the unwanted data. How is this done? Well it can be done manually with the Regedit application which is installed in all windows PCs. Just click on Start-Run and type Regedit in the box. This will bring up the application which you can use to clean the registry. You must first back up the registry so that it can be restored. Regedit supplies the backup function. Then you can edit out any entries from the registry. It is quite simple--just pick out the unwanted entries and delete them. It could not be easier. But is it really that simple? It is quite easy to edit the registry if you really know what you are doing. If you are the average computer user, the contents of the registry are probably a mystery to you. You will have no idea what to remove. If this is the case, be very careful indeed. If you remove some entries, you may completely disable the computer and render it inoperable. You certainly do not want to cause a major problem by removing the wrong entries. So what can you do? The answer is to use an online registry repair software application. There are a number of such applications available for download on the internet. Some are, needless to say, better than others. We purchased several of the most popular registry cleaner utilities and tested them. We tested all the applications on the same computer to see how many errors they found. We did not do the repair till after all had been tested. We found a wide range of performance. The best application found twice as many errors as the poorest program. Needless to say this is the utility which we selected to install on our own computers. This program also did an excellent job of removing the errors which were found. You can get a free online scan to correct your registry problems. Would you like a free online scan to repair your registry problems?
